Investigations into the collapse of Visnet, a local ISP, have been started by the Australian Securities Commission (ASC). A provisional liquidator has been appointed to the company, which also traded as Viscom.
The ASC said the company had been offering unlimited access to the Internet for between six and 12 months at fees ranging up to $200 and hardware deals described as "impossible". It is believed the directors of the company left Australia on August 25.
