Symantec has released a bundle of software programs set to make using the Net - for even the biggest technophobes - a faster and easier exercise.
Internet FastFind (RRP $79) consists of seven programs which can be launched from a single menu (pictured).
The programs include:
EasyZIP - a zip and unzip program. All that is needed is a double click on a zipped file and it opens.
EasyFTP - a directory of FTP sites. EasyFTP comes with hardware, software and entertainment vendors' FTP sites listed, plus the user can add their own favourites. EasyFTP allows the user to drag and drop files to download.
WebLaunch - click on the little rocket which sits next to the time in Windows, select the bookmarked site you'd like to go to and the program launches your browser to the site.
PatchConnect - identifies the hardware and software on a computer and connects the user to the right sites for patches and drivers.
NetFileFind - searches FTP and Web sites for files.
WebFind - uses eight search engines (Yahoo!, Magellan, Excite, AltaVista, Infoseek, Lycos and Webcrawler) at the same time and compiles the results removing any duplicates.
Notify - tracks and alerts the user when changes are made to a particular Web or FTP site.
Internet FastFind is for Windows 95 and NT only and requires a 32-bit version of Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.
Internet FastFind is distributed by Tech Pacific and Dataflow.
