Customer support on the Line

Amber Technology has announced that WebLine, an Internet-based interactive technology, is available in Australia now. WebLine is a Java-based application that allows interactive presentations, demonstrations and customer service via the Web. It will be targeted at organisations wishing to integrate sales and support services with their Internet strategies.

According to Amber, the product will allow organisations to reduce costs associated with telephone sales and support while dramatically increasing productivity through the use of visual cues and interactive demonstrations. WebLine allows reps to transfer files, and share Web pages and forms (such as quotes and applications).

WebLine 1.1 is available in two versions. For the "all or nothing" types, WebLine Platinum costs $35,000, with no agents provided. Each agent costs an additional $1000. For the cost-conscious, WebLine Gold comes in at $11,000, which includes two agents (the Gold version is limited to five). The cost of WebLine Platinum also includes two days of training, installation and support.
