Toshiba, Hewlett-Packard, and Digital all went notebook crazy this week with each vendor opting to refresh its portable line.
Toshiba leads with six new systems in the Libretto, Satellite, and Tecra lines.
The Libretto 70CT will use the 120MHz Pentium MMX chip from Intel and a 1.58Gb hard drive, while the Satellite Pro 480CDT combines a 233MHz Pentium MMX processor with a 4Gb hard drive and 32Mb of RAM.
HP will showcase its OmniBook 3000 Series, which is available with a 233 or 200MHz Pentium MMX processor, a 4Gb hard drive, and a 13.3in active matrix display.
Finally, Digital will announce a midrange mobile line in the HiNote VP 700 series. Fully loaded, the VP 735 comes with a 233MHz Pentium MMX, a 13.3in active matrix display, 32Mb of RAM, a 4Gb hard drive, and Windows NT.
