SAP Australia's reseller program is showing signs of life after a lacklustre start. In the year since SAP launched the program to address the small to medium enterprise market, one reseller dropped out and sales were thin or non-existent.
In the past few months however, the program has begun yielding results and feedback from its reseller channels is creating more confidence in SAP about its model.
There are now two national resellers, Data #3 based in Queensland but expanding into NSW and Victoria, and Australian Solutions and People based in Victoria, but expanding into NSW.
Signs that mindset may be altering have surfaced in the past few months, according to SAP director of alliances Sanjay Gupta.
In that time, about half a dozen deals have been signed with SME companies, including the NSW Wine Society, Parbury Building Products, BTR Nylex and Martin Bright Steel, he said.
SAP is now pumping more resources into the reseller marketplace and strengthening its alignment with Microsoft to take advantage of burgeoning interest among SME companies in Windows NT.
