A string quartet provided the backdrop as Jtec released its new switching system at Networld+Interop last week.
With the theme of "A Symphony of Networking", Jtec used the new J7100 to send images of the musicians and reproduced them onto a video wall in real time.
The J7100 follows the success of the J7000 InterXchange family of ATM-based solutions for broadband networks. It is an ATM multiplexer and switch designed for small- to medium-sized branch office applications.
The new switch is designed to make savings on wide area bandwidth by connecting sites and legacy equipment using ATM. The J7100 saves bandwidth on 2Mbit links and allows companies to expand above that limit. It allows devices like PABXs and statistical multiplexers to be concentrated onto an ATM trunk - either on a public network service or existing private line.
The J7100 is available for delivery now, using Jtec's direct sales force.
