Hewlett-Packard partners will deal directly with just one HP representative for all products under a new program announced last week. Previously, partners had to deal with a different person for each product category.
The HP Solutions Reselling Organisation (SRO), established as a part of their new Commercial Channels Organisation, is expected to provide a greater focus on the needs of HP's existing and new computer systems customers. Australian SRO man-ager Alan Ryner said the program would focus on establishing a range of programs for both NT and HP-UX resellers. The programs are designed to maximise HP content in Unix and NT servers, PCs and hard copy products.
They will include advanced training for resellers and partner-certification programs to identify and maintain best-in-class solutions resellers.
"We just want to see partners lead with a HP system, regardless of its platform. The charter of HP's new SRO is quite clear. It is designed to provide our solutions partners, and therefore our end-user customers, with the most workable, efficient and cost-effective IT solutions available in the industry," Ryner said.
"The primary role of the SRO is to support HP's current customer base and encourage a greater use of partners while continuing to focus on customer satisfaction," Ryner said.
