D-Link has released its new range of 2.4GHz wireless access points and network interface cards. The AirPlus range is based on a new 802.11 chip set from Texas Instruments and can deliver data transfer rates of up to 22Mbps. It features wireless router/firewall functionality and increased security through 256-bit WEP encryption and MAC address authentication. The range features two access points and interface cards for notebooks and PCs, respectively. The AirPlus DI-614+ is priced on application, the AirPlus DWL-900AP+ retails for $480, and the AirPlus DWL-650+ wireless CardBus adapter for notebooks costs $230. The AirPlus DWL-520+ wireless PCI adapter for PCs is priced at $286.
