Remote access server drops proprietary tag

Comtrol has announced the Interchange VS1000 remote access server which takes a different approach from most of the competition. Unlike most vendors, Comtrol is not using any proprietary code to run its access server. End users utilise Windows NT's built-in RAS services to control the box, which appears to the server as though you had installed 16 extra serial ports.

If you bat for the other team you can use Novell's NetWare Connect to achieve the same result. Up to four units can be stacked to give 128 ports under NetWare or stack eight boxes for 256 ports under Windows NT.
