Lexmark, leading supplier of inkjet, laser and dot matrix printers, has appointed Melbourne-based ITG as a national distributor. In an attempt to expand and develop its Australian distribution channel, Lexmark's agreement with ITG will supersede its existing Victoria-only distribution agreement.
Les Mansour, national distribution manager at Lexmark Australia and New Zealand, said the change will enable Lexmark to take advantage of ITG's strategies in value-added distribution.
"ITG has established a very successful track record as our Victorian distributor over the past two years," he said. "We are confident that Lexmark customers around Australia will appreciate the benefits of ITG's advanced warehousing and logistic systems, which provide prompt delivery of available products."
Mansour said that ITG had made a commitment to carry only Lexmark printers, balancing these peripherals with other offerings from Lotus, Compaq and IBM.
"The business has matured, we've come a long way and now we are saying: distribution is the growth area we have yet to tap into," he said.
Mansour is confident of 68 per cent growth in the coming year through the channel, and ITG's marketing manager, Braham Schneider, is equally confident.
"We believe Lexmark is the premier printer manufacturer in Australia and the perfect complement for other products we distribute," he said.
