Tech Pacific fire no cause for alarm
SYDNEY - A fire at Tech Pacific's Rosebery headquarters has caused minimal disruption to the distributor's operations.
Managing director David Cullen said the fire started around 10.00pm on 19 June on the building's second floor. Cullen said it was quickly brought under control, but not before causing damage to the distributor's sales operations.
Nonetheless, he says sales operations were back up by 9.00am the next day.
"Fortunately the IS side was OK," said Cullen, "although we have offsite storage anyway, and our warehouse wasn't impacted at all. So we really didn't miss a beat, except our phones were slow for a day or two."
Cullen says Tech Pacific was able to move people around within its building away from the affected areas, and the company also received assistance from its vendors.
