April has been a good month for Computer Hardware of Australia (CHA). first came the purchase of Queensland distributor Totally Portable (see ARN April 29, page 4), and now it has picked up the national distribution for Acer computers and NetComm modems.
CHA will distribute the entire range of Acer products, including notebooks, desktops, workstations and server systems. The NetComm range includes desktop, internal, PC card and rack-mountable communication products. NetComm is part of the Australian modem giant, Sirius Technologies.
Meanwhile, CHA is planning joint training programs with Acer and its resellers.
The NetComm deal should add about $5 million to CHA's coffers, while the Acer deal is expected to bring in more than $10 million.
Meanwhile, CHA is looking for personnel to staff its ever-expanding offices, including Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
The company needs storemen, sales people, IT staff and administration staff.
