Susan Searle, publisher of Australian Reseller News, is delighted to announce the top new staff line-up.
Long-standing and inaugural ARN editor Paul Zucker has been promoted to the senior position of channel director.
Zucker has been responsible for the publication since it was launched in 1991. His pioneering helped drive the publication from a monthly to a fortnightly newspaper, then to the very successful weekly that is the essential information source for the IT channel today.
His new position will be to develop ARN as the voice of the channel community. In this strategic role Zucker will coordinate events to bring the various sectors of the channel together.
These will include working with Inform Business Development on its channel conference and industry awards; monthly breakfast presentations; setting up advisory boards and monthly roundtables.
Zucker also intends to champion the IT reseller, helping them to work towards a more efficient, better organised, more equitable channel. Zucker will continue to have a weekly column in ARN.
Philip Sim is the new editor of Australian Reseller News. Sim started with IDG on Computerworld in 1994 where he became news editor in 1996. A year ago he was promoted to the position of editor of Network World where he has been extremely successful in positioning it as the number one networking publication in Australia.
Sim plans to further enhance ARN's reputation as the champion of the channel and will increase its commitment to hard- hitting editorial.
Cameron Tomes will continue in the news editor position. His commitment to breaking news that affects the channel at all levels has earned him the respect of the IT industry.
Searle said: "After serving the channel with ARN and now ARN Daily and our Web site, it is time to further build and invest in the community. Zucker will develop non- publication driven forums and Sim and Tomes will bring the news as it breaks with ARN Daily, and weekly information and analysis with Australian Reseller News."
