Resellers, ISPs and telecommunications providers will be the winners in LAN Systems' latest service, HotStage Logistics (HSL).
HSL is a value-added service that provides customers with pre-configured routers that can be shipped anywhere in Australia within 48 hours.
LAN Systems' managing director, Scott Frew, said he saw "enormous potential" in the market for this kind of service. "We have the exceptional technical expertise and market knowledge required, combined with access to high-end internetworking equipment from leading vendors, such as Cisco, Xylan and 3Com," he said.
HSL is designed for resellers who "don't have time to become switching engineers", Frew said. He said it's ideal for those resellers, ISPs and telecommunications providers who don't find it cost-effective to invest resources necessary to perform router configurations for their customers. Frew expects HSL to turn over $1.5 million in the next 12 months.
HSL's first customer is AAPT Networks, which is building the VicOne network in Victoria. LAN will configure all the Cisco routers for the initial rollout of the project.
