Using their PCs religiously

Interest in mainstream and alternative religions is booming among Australian families with PCs, according to a recent survey of about 1000 software dealers.

The dealers were canvassed by Pactronics, a wholesaler specialising in titles retailing for $30 or less and aimed at the Mum-and-Dad market.

The common denominator running through the response from its dealer base was interest in Bible software and others such as astrology and palmistry.

Demand was evenly split between the Christian-oriented and alternative products.

"It says to me that the Christian and alternative religion markets are becoming strong in Australia," said Pactronic's national sales manager, Greg Howe.
