Small offices get 15-pages-per-minute printing in compact, robust devices that pack features normally found only with enterprise-grade devices

Sydney, 7 September 2004 -- Canon Australia, the leader in digital imaging technology, today announced the launch of the imageRUNNER iR1510 and iR1570F, two new high-print-resolution multifunction devices (MFDs) for small and home offices as well as smaller corporate workgroups.

Most multifunction devices with this level of performance are built with larger, corporate demands in mind. As such, many SMEs believe their only choice is to have three separate devices or to outsource part of their work to the local copy shop. The iR1510 and iR1570F remove the need for multiple devices by combining a laser printer, copier and, in the case of the iR1570F, a fax in one. Now, small businesses and home offices can manage efficient communications from a single point, reducing cost, as well as freeing-up space.

Both of these new devices provide speedy 15-pages-per-minute printing at a high resolution of up to 2400 x 600 dots per inch, so smaller firms don't have to trade quality for cost. Local printing via USB or parallel port is provided as standard, while network printing is supported via an optional AXIS1610 Ethernet print server.

In addition to all the features of the iR1510, the iR1570F provides a 30-page automatic document feeder and a Super G3 fax that transmits at a fast 3 seconds per page. As such, this device becomes a multifunctional office management tool that gives businesses the opportunity to dramatically cut communication costs.

The iR1510 and iR1570 also allow users to benefit from a range of time saving-features, including electronic sorting where documents are collated at the printer, saving employee's time for more important tasks. Finally, these imageRUNNERs cleverly operate with a 'toner add' system, as opposed to replaceable cartridges, providing long-lasting performance, and dramatically reducing operating costs. This method eliminates the need to purchase and replace costly cartridges typically associated with products of this size.

"Time and space efficiency is of vital importance for small offices where resources can often be stretched," said Kevin Ferrari, Market Segment Manager, Office Imaging Products, Canon Australia. "The availability of the iR1510 and iR1570F assist in overcoming day to day business challenges by providing a single reliable device capable of high-quality printing, copying and faxing at a low cost. These products underline our commitment to offering efficient multifunctional technology to meet the needs of businesses. Whether the office is small or large, imageRUNNER technology ensures that high-quality documents can be managed and produced quickly to enhance productivity."

The imageRUNNER iR1510 and iR1570F are both available throughout Australia via Canon's direct and indirect sales channels. For further information, contact Canon Australia on 1800 444 199.
