Building on the expertise it has derived from a massive outsourcing deal with AMP Superannuation, Kaz Computer Services is opening a facility to provide specialist services for companies with bulk printing requirements.
"The sort of companies we're looking at are ones that have potentially outgrown their in-house printing capabilities," Peter Kazacos, managing director of Kaz Computer Services, told ARN. "We are targeting those that have large extraordinary jobs like monthly newsletters or mailouts to prospects, and companies that want a little more control over their printing jobs."
AMP last year outsourced its mid-range operations, hardware and software to Kaz in a deal valued at $54 million over six years. The print facility was developed as part of that arrangement and is now being leveraged to win other Kaz customers.
Kazacos claims the print facility has been designed to respond more effectively than bulk mailing houses to the needs of individual companies.
"We're providing a boutique service, rather than a factory-type approach," he said.
Kaz has invested in three industrial-strength Xerox digital presses for the print facility, which will have 24 x 7 availability.
According to Kazacos, flexibility will also be a key component of the facility. Expanded quality control practices and the option to make last-minute changes to templates are among the benefits being offered.
