- The program's major initiatives include free developer licences for Informix Dynamic Server, as well as the provision of 100 days' free technical support for Australian and New Zealand NT application developers.
The program is open to existing Informix value-added resellers (VARs) that wish to port their applications to NT, and to independent software vendors (ISVs) and VARs that have not worked with the vendor before. It started this month and will remain in effect until 31 December 1999.
"We want to aggressively stimulate the development of NT applications on the Informix database platform," said Alan Robinson, managing director of Informix Software Australia and New Zealand.
Additionally, for the first five customers of each developer or VAR deploying approved Informix-based NT applications, the vendor will provide 20 Informix Dynamic Server end-user licences free of charge.
To qualify, ISVs and VARs are invited to submit new application development plans, or proposals to port existing applications to Informix under NT. To help kick-start a project once it has been approved under the program, Informix will provide 100 days' free support to the developer, plus free training at a local Informix office for a maximum of two application developers per ISV or VAR.
In addition, Informix is offering free developer licences for its Universal Data Option and WEB Integration Option to approved ISVs and VARs.
