TouchStone Software Corporation has appointed Queensland based Manaccom as national distributor for its PC diagnostic tools and utility software.
Manaccom replaces Marketing Results, Touchstone's previous Australian channel partner.
Jonathon Seigle, Touchstone's manager, international sales, was in Australia to launch its new channel model this week and said the market presented notable opportunities to all levels of the local channel.
Seigle said that there were several reasons why Touchstone appointed Manaccom.
"We saw that Manaccom has the geographic penetration to reach all of the Australian market as well as having good coverage across all the different types of retailers in the channel," he said.
"They have the ability to get our product into both the large chain stores and also the smaller independent retailers.
"We could also get a very strong focus on specialist diagnostic and utility product with Manaccom.
"When you pick a distributor you want them to be able to help build your profile and make sales for you. We believe Manaccom will do that for us."
Ian Mackay, managing director, Manaccom, said he expects market growth in Australia to come from optimising performance in the retail channel.
"We want to have a presence in every retail outlet but our best potential for growth is in the other channels that we are not currently addressing, especially OEM bundling and the network integrator or systems integrator type of guys and where appropriate in government and education," said Mackay.
