Systems Union partnership strategy takes shape

To enable it to grow market share while remaining focused on its core competency of providing financial management solutions, Systems Union has formed a key partnership with Hexagon Computer Systems.

Under the terms of the agreement, Systems Union will leverage Hexagon's expertise as a developer and systems integrator in the database and business intelligence fields to offer its customers complete financial solutions.

Brian Epp, Hexagon's local managing director, said the deal is being piloted in Australia but may later be expanded to include Hexagon's other branches in Canada and the United States.

"Systems Union chose Hexagon because of its proven track record in Oracle and Cognos technologies," Margaret Pernet, managing director of Systems Union, Australia-New Zealand, said. "Hexagon's capabilities in these areas strengthens and extends Systems Union's integrated best-of-breed approach."

The strategic partnership also gives Hexagon the chance to expand its business, according to Epp.

"By complementing Systems Union's expertise in financial management software with our knowledge of Oracle and Cognos products, we'll be in a very strong position to offer clients a total systems solution," he claims.

Hexagon and Systems Union are already working together on a number of government and commercial sites, including Jones Lang Wootton and BHP Steel.
