Channel players reveal revenue windfall

Australian IT companies have figured prominently in the newly released Business Review Weekly (BRW) annual Top 500 Private Companies.

Leading distributor Edge Technology snared the number 48 spot with $418 million in revenue for the year, an increase of 13.3 per cent. Meanwhile parent company of Prion distribution and Applied Micro Systems, AAG Holdings, increased its earnings by 11.9 per cent to $135.2 million.

Total Peripherals was ranked at number 168, Senteq slid a few places to 173, and ITG was at number 235.

The big mover was Computer Hardware of Australia (CHA), which entered the list for the first time at number 344. Its revenue increased by a massive 168.5 per cent to $72.5 million, in the past year.

Other IT-related organisations to make the top 500 include Westan Computer, Hallmark Computer International and Optima Computer Technologies.
