Ex-Sophos channel sales manager Nimmity Zappert, who left the Australian branch of the corporate antivirus specialist six months ago, has been appointed channel marketing manager of Sophos in the UK.
Zappert left Sophos to travel in December 2003 after spearheading Sophos' move from direct sales to a channel model. She appointed 180 additional resellers bringing the total for A/NZ to 240.
"Zappert brought us successfully through an evolutionary period and we no longer needed someone in a development role - we had always hoped we would be able to use her expertise in another office," Sophos sales director, David Higgins, said.
“Zappert will be responsible for … the global elements of the Sophos Partner Program, ensuring consistency across all regions while looking at how Sophos can find new and exciting ways to market its anti-virus and anti-spam solutions in collaboration with local channel partners,” a UK press statement read.
Back at home, Sophos has recently been courting regional partners to sell its small-business focused antivirus and spam blocking tools, holding partner strategy seminars in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.
