Apple Computer has announced a new Power Macintosh G3 and new features and pricing for one of its existing Power Macintosh G3 PCs.
The new machine is a 333MHz Power Macintosh G3 with 128MB of RAM, a 1MB level 2 backside cache and a 24x CD-ROM drive, according to a statement from Apple. It will be available from September 1 and the price is $6695 RRP, the statement said.
The company also announced that the 300MHz Power Macintosh G3, priced at $4495 RRP and previously available only in a minitower configuration, will be available in September as a desktop.
In addition, Apple Studio Display, a flat-panel active matrix LCD (Liquid Crystal Display), is now priced at $3300 RRP, down from $4000 according to the statement from Apple.
Also, the FireWire Kit, for digital capture, editing and playback on the Power Macintosh G3, is now available as a separate option, according to the statement. Previously, it was only available as a build-to-order option, the statement said.
