ATC offers world's smallest Ethernet card

The world's smallest Ethernet card has been introduced to Australia by Advanced Portable Technologies (APT). The Low Power Ethernet card from Socket Communications is a "CompactFlash" card designed for palmtop computers.

According to APT's technical director Felix Wong, the new Ethernet card has less surface area than a box of matches.

APT claims it is the first product to conform with the CompactFlash Association's proposed CFx standard, which lets users plug the device into a palmtop's CompactFlash slot, normally used for other I/O cards like serial or barcode wand attachments.
