Rationalisation, it seems, is the word of the week at Unisys with the outsourcer announcing that its South Pacific division, headed by Mike Lee, would be dissolved following Lee's decision to retire from the company.
Lee's dual replacement's will be Ron Frankenfield, who will assume the title of managing director and Tim Miles, Unisys' current New Zealand managing director.
"We believe that placing focused leadership directly in Australia and New Zealand will enable us to accelerate our progress in those countries," said Jack Blaine, president of Unisys Asia Pacific, Asia, the Americas and Africa.
"We are confident that this new organisation will intensify the growth in our business and, in doing so, better focus activities in our key target markets."
Frankenfield, a 20-year Unisys veteran, has a sales and marketing management background, having recently been appointed to the position of vice president, Worldwide Marketing Operations.
Meanwhile, Miles, who joined Unisys in 1994, previously held the position of managing director in 1995.
