Microsoft continues its Exchange attack on Notes

Microsoft may not have said much about Lotus at its Exchange conference here last week, but don't for a minute think that it's gone soft on its arch-rival.

The vendor last week has unveiled three new tools designed to ease migration from cc: Mail and Notes to Exchange -- and they're free. Available for download from, the tools include:

Application Analyzer for Lotus Notes, which analyses an organisation's Notes infrastructure, categorising the types of applications and indicating applications that are no longer in use; Application Connector for Lotus Notes, which enables Notes and Exchange applications to work together; Application Conversion Assistant for Lotus Notes, which converts all or parts of Notes applications, including electronic forms, views and databases, to the Exchange platform; and Microsoft Importer for Lotus Notes Mail, which moves existing Notes mailboxes to Exchange.
