Microsoft finding global appeal for Win 98

Microsoft has sold more than 1.5 million retail upgrade licences for Windows 98 outside the United States, company officials said last week.

Windows 98 sales have been particularly strong in Japan, where more than 250,000 upgrades were sold in the first two days of availability, and licence sales are 150 per cent over initial forecasts, according to the software giant.
