The success of Entercorp Solutions' Lotus Domino-based contact management package now has the Sydney-based developer looking to establish its own reseller channel.
Entercorp already lists Mars Corporation and Acer Computer among the customers it has sold its Rapid Web Publisher product to, and a recent win at the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) has further stimulated the interest of resellers.
Rapid Web Publisher is an Internet/intranet contact management solution packaged ready for end users, according to Nick Nicolaou, managing director of Entercorp Solutions.
"This is an end-user tool, not a development tool," he told ARN.
In the case of the AGSM, the solution enabled the organisation to implement its new workflow processes in a few weeks, with users now able to publish their information directly to the Web.
"Each business unit has their Rapid Web Publisher database integrated with other data-bases and the product allows them to connect those different databases together and at the same time link to a standard HTML page," Nicolaou said. "Users literally choose a box to perform the tasks."
Ease of use is also a feature of Rapid Web Publisher that AGSM has exploited.
"The biggest problem for users is keeping the Web site up to date without having to contact the Web administrator," Nicolaou claims. "AGSM previously also had a centralised process where their webmaster was always being bombarded with requests and they wanted to revamp that process.
"Using Rapid Web Publisher, they have been able to decentralise it to the extent that the librarian is now able to enter information and it is automatically updated on the Web site."
Nicolaou said the Rapid Web Publisher product has been available for two years and uses the Domino environment to provide a security and collaboration infrastructure.
In addition to its ability to integrate with Lotus Notes databases, Rapid Web Publisher can also leverage SQL Server and DB2 databases, Nicolaou said.
