Last week saw the launch of another online department store, this time by Davnet's ISP subsidiary Magna Data.
The newest e-tailer went live last Friday, with Magna Data managing director Ron Creevey claiming the shopping network had more than 20,000 product lines on offer, and more in the new year.
According to the site's shopping page, orders will be processed from this Thursday December 23, which allows one day for deliveries before Christmas.
As well as music and electrical goods, the department store on www.magnaplanet.com.au carries computer hardware featuring Compaq and Palm systems and a range of software.
"We intend to be the best e-tailer in the nation and our "department store" will be open all day every day with a same day or 24 hour delivery service to any capital city in Australia," Creevey said.
Meanwhile, besides the promotion of Creevey to position of managing director of magna Data, Davnet has announced a raft of senior appointments including Stephen Moignard as group managing director, Jason Ashton as president of Davnet telecommunications and Chris MacNee as managing director of networking and project management consulting group Magna Systems.
