New directory simplifies online PC price shopping

How much are you spending on advertising? A former Muscovite Apple dealer wants your business.

Igor Tershukov, managing director of Pricepoint, claims that, after two years of development, it has the only specialist computer reseller directory in Australia to include prices - on systems, peripherals and a number of other products.

Tershhukov told ARN that www.price currently lists about 90 resellers and 15,000 individually priced products, which allows buyers at the final stage of purchase decision making to do price comparison shopping online.

"It's simply a directory of products with prices," he explained. "For resellers, it is an advertising opportunity to reach buyers at the final step of making the buying decision."

Tershukov added it was different from the online auction sites or shopping malls. "At this stage, the site specialises in IT equipment, and as well as providing comparative pricing, it includes contact details for the reseller and links to its Web site."

He also described it as an inexpensive way for resellers to have a presence on the Internet. For $250 per month, Pricepoint will maintain the information, updated weekly if required, on up to 400 products.

Tershukov describes it as the simplest form of advertising, and he is now looking to generate traffic. "It's straight-forward and makes it easy for consumers," he said.
