Victorian-based IT services company, S Central, has announced it has acquired Com Connexions.
The latter has been operating successfully for more than nine years and built up a strong client base that ranges from small-to-medium businesses to multinational corporate and government departments.
S Central services more than 2000 companies, including the ANZ Banking Group, Coles Myer and the Metropolitan Fire and Emergency Board.
The merger of these two companies creates one of Australia's largest technology services groups, according to S Central.
"Until recently our corporate strategy was that we were a service-only business," S Central managing director, Peter Mavridis, said. "But this was becoming a really limited market.
"I think it's a terrific fit to bring hardware capability to our business by acquiring Com Connexions. They can provide benefits such as Novell expertise and hardware partnerships to our existing outsourcing division."
Former Com Connexions director, Steve Rutzou, will take on the role of S Central sales director.
