Accountancy software enables backend app integration

Australian software developer, Business Manager Software (BMS) yesterday launched an updated version of its business management package called BM98 with a view to capturing added revenue from integration and connectivity business.

BMS claims the package, comprising of a suite of over 20 modules, features a transaction server module that enables BM98 to accept input from almost any third-party application including point-of-sale systems, computerised cash registers, contact management or Internet sales systems.

The vendor also offers a Windows-based suite of products called Probe, which includes the ODBC-based probe Connect, a reporting tool which access live data from the database and reports through to ODBC-compliant applications such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.

With over 17,000 users of BMS products in Australia and Southeast Asia, BMS claims the vendor is now emerging from its "quiet achiever" status to being a major influence in the marketplace.
