Local Web site developer Eye Media has announced a new ready-made electronic commerce solution for the small-and-medium business (SMB) market.
As part of a joint venture with David Trewern Design, Eye Media has launched an electronic commerce system called Total Retail.
Scheduled for unveiling at the Interact/PC IT Exhibition to be held in Melbourne from October 28Ð31, the Australian-developed system is a complete hardware and software solution.
"Unlike alternative e-commerce products, Total Retail requires no technical skills and no com-puter systems," according to Melanie Conomikes, a director of Eye Media. "With Total Retail, there is no need for funding or technical skills for ongoing maintenance or transaction charges.
"Everything is provided - the hardware, software, and services are all inclusive in the initial purchase price."
Previously, Eye Media has concentrated on large government and corporate multinational clients, but according to Conomikes, the move into the SMB market was "driven by the requests of customers" who wanted similar offerings at the low end of the market.
In order to provide those SMBs with the best of what they offer at an affordable price, Eye Media entered the joint venture with David Trewern Design rather than outsourcing responsibilities to them.
Bundling and distribution announcements with several leading global corporations are to be announced at the PC show, according to Conomikes.
