Servex Australia has announced the release of its AOpen AX6B Plus motherboard incorporating the 440BX AGP set chip from Intel.
Officials claim it is the most advanced motherboard in its range, offering flexibility, compatibility and high performance across a wide range of applications.
Servex Australia AOpen product manager David Deng said he expects the new motherboard will be best- suited to the small server and high-performance desktop market.
AX6B Plus has been developed from the existing AX6B platform and is designed to prevent overheating and report fan malfunctions, as well as provide on-board voltage switching regulation and protection.
But the most obvious advantage to the AX6B Plus motherboard is the Adaptec AHAA 7880P Ultra-wide SCSI controller which reduces CPU utilisation, thus allowing for higher system performance.
Of maximum benefit to the small business server market, the AX6B Plus provides easy connection of multiple devices; support of up to seven internal or external peripherals; and compatibility with current application software and operating systems, including embedded Adaptec SCSI drivers.
That maximises upgradeability and multi-tasking capabilities, according to Servex officials.
In addition, the Ultra DMA/33 Bus Master IDE improves hard drive transfer rates, especially for 3D applications. The jumperless design allows users to set CPU frequency through CMOS setup and provides an upgrade path for faster processors.
Aopen AX6B PLUS is priced at $549 RRP.
