Open Market predicts strong Web publishing demand

Internet application software developer Open Market, this week announced two new products LivePublish and SecurePublish.

Both are designed to provide organisations with a "Web-based, end-to-end publishing solution," Paul Bunn, regional director, Asia Pacific of Open Market said.

The next step in Open Market's Folio information publishing suite, LivePublish can be customised for individual businesses, claimed Henry Heilesen, executive vice president, folio products group of Open Market.

Heilesen said LivePublish is scaleable and standards-based, and is compatible with Word, XML, HTML and SGML to allow information to be stored in its native format.

Bunn predicted that opportunities for resellers to sell these new solutions will appear shortly as Open Market intends to use a definite "channel strategy" to sell LivePublish and SecurePublish.

Open Market is already seeing reseller success in the US with these products, with Greg Pope, the company's vice president, worldwide sales claiming: "Our traditional reseller base in the US is screaming for it."

Local versions of LivePublish and SecurePublish. are set to be released in the first half of 1999.
