The enigmatic Intel Australia national sales manager, Archie Wilson, has, as they say, "left the building". His sudden departure yesterday from the chip and emerging Internet giant has been met with silence from IA's general manager, David Bolt.
Wilson, widely regarded as second in charge of Intel's interests in Australia and New Zealand, is understood to have been escorted from the building yesterday, immediately after his employment was terminated.
An Intel staffer confirmed his sudden departure to ARN. According to one of Intel's channel partners, it was advised by David Bolt yesterday afternoon that Wilson was no longer with the company, but was assured that it was "business as usual".
Intel marketing manager Phil Dows claimed that it was an amicable parting and described it as positive for Wilson, but that he has taken another role outside the company.
It is believed he will soon take up a position with a company in competition with Intel.
Wilson has been a central figure in the restructuring of Intel's Australian channel over the last two years.
