Oracle's Web commerce heading downunder

Oracle Corporation today announced the release of its new Web-based electronic commerce ordering system designed to provide its partners and resellers with a more efficient way to access information and order Oracle products.

The system, dubbed Oracle Source, will allow the database vendor's channel partners to look up product information, place orders and check order status 24 hours a day.

Pascal Grant, Oracle's manager for electronic commerce believes the Web-based ordering system will be taken up by all Oracle partners in the near future, considering the system's ease of use and cost effectiveness.

"Oracle Source [will be] easily accessible via the Internet, reducing our partners' operating costs by eliminating administrative steps and helping eliminate the need to carry inventory," Grant said.

Oracle Source roll out date for Australia is expected to be announced shortly.
