Software developer Datawatch is looking to even the balance between resellers and vendors by establishing a new partner program for the channel.
Datawatch's channel manager, Neil Vasey, explains that the driving idea behind the Datawatch Partner Program is to create two-way relationships between resellers and the vendor that will push the new range of products, Monarch/ES and Quetzal software, into strategic markets.
"One of the biggest challenges that resellers face is inequity, and we want to address this," Vasey said. "They are squeezed furiously on margins, especially if they are just moving boxes."
According to Vasey, the ultimate goal is to provide training to the channel to help them install and maintain total solutions for end users. That will involve the implementation of data warehouses and data marts with Monarch/ES and an integrated help desk and asset management system with Quetzal.
"The partner program will attract a wide range of channel players from small systems integrators that will use it to become more competitive to larger organisations like SAP."
