After eight months of successfully distributing its products through the channel, international supplier of integrated messaging solutions Fenestrae, has expanded its direct presence in the Asia-Pacific by opening its first Australian office.
"To grow a stronger user base successfully throughout the South Asia region, we recognised the need for a direct presence in Australia. We have also committed more resources to the wider Asia-Pacific region, and expect our customer base to grow rapidly as a result," said Michael Trinder, managing director of the new operation.
The Sydney-based office of the European messaging specialist will manage new and existing partner and channel relationships in Australia and New Zealand. The company is not expected to employ a direct sales approach in capturing its share of the local IT market.
"We're not here to displace the channel," Trinder said.
"We are very channel committed and what we are trying to do is build the overall business to the mutual benefit of us and our channel partners."
Trinder also said Fenestrae's channel partners will have a big role to play in realising the company's plans to increase its customer base in Australia by over 200 per cent this year.
"By the end of the year, I'd like to see our Australian operation generate around 5 per cent of Fenestrae's total sales worldwide," he revealed.
"For the moment, however, we are analysing the channels in place and speaking with our partners and end users to determine what is the best way for the company to move forward and achieve these goals."
