Western Australian reseller BASScom last week signed a prestigious deal with network developers Specialix to provide its full range of multi-user, network connectivity and remote access solutions.
In a bid to expand its operations into Australia, the British manufacturer selected BASScom on the merits of its network specialisation and position as a value-added reseller (VAR), who is able to provide a total solution both pre and after the sale.
According to BASScom's general manager Rod Bass, the reseller's established contacts didn't deter the Specialix scout either. "We have a large client base that already appreciate how we do things," claimed Bass, "this is an excellent product in terms of performance and price which means we can sell an accepted solution into a known market," he continued.
Bass is anticipating his job will be made even easier because of the easy scalability of Specialix systems. "A client can start simply and then move onto a total solution," asserts Bass who believes that this offers BASScom the opportunity to develop total systems and long-term strategic alliances with customers.
This range of products further appeals to Bass who perceives it has the potential to transcend a broad range of the consumer spectrum. "Specialix products appeal to SMEs as well as large enterprises, which are who we have traditionally targeted. This provides us with a leg in to the SME market whilst maintaining our contacts with large sector," states Bass.
Relying on the Specialix range to expand his existing business by up to 20 per cent Bass has taken advantage of the developer's reseller training and has already received interest from clients keen to implement the system.
