Magic is in the air at the moment as distributor, Integrity Data Systems, travels around Australia creating Wireless Wizards.
Integrity is the only certified instructor in the country for the training program, which is teaching resellers about the products of wireless vendor Proxim.
The vendor held initial events in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney earlier this year but has now passed the magic mantle to Integrity.
Wireless Wizards encompasses two accreditation programs — a LAN certification including a one-day wireless LAN course and a WAN standard course covering entry-level products; and a wireless WAN certification including a wireless WAN standard course as well as a two-day advanced WAN course dealing with high-end equipment.
“We tracked the business of some resellers going through the course and found increases of 25-65 per cent,” Integrity CEO, Ross Chigwell, said. “It gives them the confidence to tackle bigger jobs.”
Integrity has held four-day training programs in Melbourne and Adelaide. Further events are planned in Brisbane this week, Sydney (July 29-August 1) and Perth (August 11-14).
Each session accommodates up to 15 resellers and all three locations have places available. The four-day course costs $659 but it can be broken down into days or modules.
Integrity has also trained four of its own staff as wireless wizards, including Alison Arthur, who deals with reseller sales support.
“As wireless reaches the mainstream, everyone in the company has to become an expert,” she said.
