Oracle to fund innovative developers

In a bid to stimulate the development of innovative Oracle-based products and services around the world, Oracle recently announced it has set up a $US100 million fund to help developers using Oracle8i for their applications. Oracle will specifically focus on funding newly formed companies choosing Oracle8i as their primary technology platform and more mature organisations intending to redevelop existing platforms using Oracle technology.

Those selected to participate in the project can expect to receive between $US2 million and $US5 million in funding and a number of other benefits, including access to Oracle's technology, developers and technical support and early releases of software.
