HP flexes its Microsoft Exchange program with services arm

Furthering its drive into the lucrative services market, Hewlett-Packard has added migration and management services to its consulting portfolio, strengthening its already burgeoning Microsoft Exchange solutions program.

Carly Macmeikan, HP's recently appointed alliance manager for Microsoft, claims the program's focus is to deliver end-to-end enterprise solutions based on Exchange and other Microsoft technologies.

This focus has been bolstered by the addition of these services and is likely to benefit the channel with the company "looking to partner with resellers, to ensure HP can provide whole solutions", said Macmeikan, dismissing the possibility of direct competition with local players.

However, she stated these partnerships wouldn't fall under the consulting portfolio.

HP has also secured 400,000 Exchange seats worldwide in the last six months, confirming that the company's initiative to foster the deployment and support of Exchange and Windows NT in the enterprise market has started paying dividends.
