Boundless opportunity for thin-client VARs and more

A new reseller program launched last week in conjunction with Citrix ThinVillage expo by Boundless Australian distributor I.T. Framework could make it more enticing for application developers, system integrators and other VARs to snare a slice of the thin-client/server computing market.

The VARiety Access Program will make it easier for qualified resellers to market and support the Boundless range of thin-client terminals. Australia is the first market outside the United States to be offered VARiety Access.

Benefits include free evaluation units, heavily discounted demonstration models, complete customisation capabilities, and a Hot Swap Warranty which allows customers to receive a replacement for a failed unit within 24 hours.

The requirement to participate in the Boundless thin-client/server business is to be a Citrix solutions provider or Microsoft certified solutions provider.

I.T.Framework managing director David Besser told ARN that he would be happy to hear from authorised Australian Citrix resellers and Microsoft CSPs interested in growing their thin-client/server solutions business.

According to Tony Tayler, managing director of Sydney-based network systems integrator Sysygy, it's a great opportunity to take some market share from some PC vendors. "Somewhere between 20 and 40 per cent of PCs could be replaced more cost effectively by these thin-client terminals," he said.

I.T. Framework is the sole Australian distributor for Boundless Technologies, which has alliances with Microsoft, Citrix and IBM to market thin-client/server solutions.
