CiTR, a Brisbane-based telecommunication software developer, has been appointed a wordlwide Authorised Service Partner (ASP) by BEA Systems, provider of cross-platform middleware solutions for enterprise applications.
"[CiTR's] extensive experience in distributed computing technologies and electronic business systems," were the factors at play in the choice of CiTR, according to Julian Quinn, BEA's managing director for Southern Asia Regions.
"Telecommunications service providers must be able to offer innovative services to their customers and, in turn, CiTR must use tools that significantly reduce development time for such services," said Dr Robert Hendy, CiTR's managing director, adding that "BEA's scalable distributed component technology enables CiTR to take advantage of the opportunities that modern telecommunications and computing systems offer."
As a result of the partnership, CiTR's toolkit for building high-performance, electronic customer solutions will include BEA's scalable BEA M3 component technology, which is claimed by CiTR officials to be "the industry's first production-ready, mission-critical object transaction manager (OTM) in the market place". CiTR will also provide BEA with sales support to generate new business opportunities and extend BEA's presence in the telecommunications sector.
At present, CiTR's clientele and partners comprise state and federal governments, telecommunications service providers such as Telstra and Bell Canada, as well as equipment vendors such as Hewlett-Packard, NEC and Alcatel.
