In a move to align itself with market segments in the IT&T industry, Australasian distributor Tech Pacific has announced structural changes within the company.
Hoping to strengthen its sales structure, the new model facilitates specialisation in each of the following technology categories: PCs; systems and OEM; networking and communications; printers, supplies and imaging software; and telecommunications.
David Cullen, Tech Pacific managing director, claims resellers stand to benefit from the changes.
"At Tech Pacific we want to become more expert in understanding industry categories because so many of our customers now specialise in these areas," he said. "We need to continue to better understand our customers' areas of specialty so that we can grow their business as well as our own."
Despite the changes, specialist sales people will not be employed for each category. "We feel it is important that our resellers continue to have one relationship manager with whom they work on a daily basis," Cullen said.
