Hypertec finalises MCT buyout

Hypertec's long road to acquisition is finally over after the company announced yesterday it has finalised its buyout by Danish PC memory outfit Memory Card Technology.

Hypertec revealed its intention to be acquired by MCT in August after failing to merge with Sirius earlier this year.

Colin Lillywhite is set to remain managing director of MCT's Asia Pacific Group, which will continue to operate in the region under a dual brand.

"This acquisition will transform Hypertec from its current position as the leading manufacturer and supplier of memory products in Australia and New Zealand into a group with the potential of becoming a major player in the entire Asian region," Lillywhite said in a press statement.
