CAD developer Visio is extending its presence in the IT networking sector with the appointment of Express Data as its latest Australian distributor.
Express Data joins Tech Pacific as a Visio distributor, replacing the now defunct Q*Soft. Ross Cochrane, Express Data's general manager, asserts that Express Data was selected because of the "strength of its current software line-up. Express Data has a complementary line-up of network deals with other vendors. This allows customers a one-stop shop for all their software needs."
The alliance enables Express Data to distribute Visio's Standard 5.0, Technical 5.0, Enterprise 5.0 and IntelliCAD software with a special focus on Visio's licensing program PREMA, which runs in sync with Visio's product range.
Cochrane claims Express Data is "renowned for its licensing program", which includes the distribution of a handbook that explains licensing forms and gives overviews, run by Express Data's dedicated licensing team.
According to Cochrane, PREMA consists of three levels of alliance, the volume licence agreement (VLA), the installation licence agreement (ILA) and the enterprise licence agreement (ELA). The variations cater to a range of reseller specialties that ambitiously attempt to include the entire channel.
