Following on from its acquisition of Data Works Corporation last year, ERP solution provider Platinum Software Corporation yesterday launched its next-generation enterprise applications solution -- Platinum Enterprise Ready Applications (ERA) 7.0.
Designed specifically for the medium enterprise market, David van Toor, Platinum Software general manager, claims Platinum ERA is a new variation of ERP, which is "customer-centric" in its approach.van Toor claims Platinum ERA integrates a company's front- and back-office application suites to ensure all customer-related information is consistent throughout all Platinum ERA applications, including sales and marketing, distribution, manufacturing, financials, budgeting and customer care.
With a current split of approximately 60 per cent direct sales and 40 per cent channel sales, van Toor asserts Platinum Software is looking to grow its channel sales to about half.
"There is too much opportunity in other markets," says van Toor, beyond those targeted by Platinum Software's direct sales force.
Dave Weber, Platinum Software enterprise product marketing manager, claims VARs stand to make considerable returns in installation and customisation by drawing on their expertise in a customer's business.
Also available is Platinum.net, a suite of Internet-enabled applications to provide access to enterprise information and e-commerce capabilities.
