Adelaide-based software distributor Saratoga Distribution has netted exclusive rights for the sale and distribution of a US-built intranet solution, Net-It Central 3.0. As sole distributor for Australia and New Zealand, the company is now looking at establishing a network of resellers Australia-wide.
Already used by the Sydney Institute of Technology and the St George bank, Net-It Central is "a high impact solution that delivers immediate benefits and easy integration into enterprise system", Saratoga officials claim.
Created by Allegis Corporation in 1996, this Java-based document publishing application allows business end users to manage and publish their work directly to corporate intranet and extranet sites using only a browser.
In addition, the software is said to offer users the capacity to search documents using XML-based "metadata", making the process quicker and more efficient.
Saratoga's new software presents a great opportunity for resellers to join in the distribution of a "high-margin" product according to Ivar Stanelis, director of Saratoga Distribution.
"Apart from compensating resellers for a longer sales cycle, Net-It Central also provides the opportunity for continuous consulting in administration of the product," he said.
"At the moment, we are setting up consulting opportunities for resellers around the country, but the right kind of reseller is pretty hard to find, because we need somebody with an entry to the business world who already has some sort of high-end solution experience."
Net-It Central 3.0 comes in Standard and Professional Editions which are priced at $11,995 and $16,995 respectively.
The opportunity for resellers, however, lies in selling support plans currently priced at $3495 for the Standard and $4995 for the Priority (professional) package. Both include unlimited technical support and all application updates for a year.
